"Georgia is ready to function as a transport corridor, announced Georgian PM on the 42nd session of Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), hosted by Georgia as a chairman country.
According to Irakli Garibashvili, Georgia will improve the transport environment, cooperate in the field of ecological security, produce and conduct energy, and promote trade relations among member states.
"It is a great honor that Georgia is the chairman country of PABSEC and hosts the 42nd session. For Georgia it is very important and interesting to cooperate with the member states, as the organization almost fully covers our geopolitical area. First of all, I would like to point out that, fortunately, this organization endured time and despite the fact that member states have problems in various directions, cooperation in the frame of this organization in the fields of economy, infrastructure and finance is very productive, Garibashvili announced.
He also noted that it is significant that relations between member countries continue and constantly improve.
"It is vital to activate the parliamentary component in this system, so that political forces can participate actively and contribute to the cooperation of our countries. Georgia is ready for openness, for serving as a transportation corridor, to improve the transport environment, to cooperate in the field of ecological security, to produce and conduct energy, and to promote trade relations between our countries, said Irakli Garibashvili.
42nd session of PABSEC opened today at Tbilisi Marriot with a speech of Georgian Speaker of Parliament, David Usupashvili and will last until December 19. Delegations from 11 member countries Armenia, Ukraine, Albania, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey and Greece are visiting Georgia.
