Special restrictions imposed on the motorways of Georgia

According to the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure,  special restrictions are imposed on roads throughout Georgia.  

"Due to intense snow and frost all around the country, the Vaziani-Telavi part of the Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi motorway is prohibited for trailers and semi-trailers and vehicles with the capacity of more than 30 seats. All other type of vehicle are allowed with anti-skid chains, - the ministry states.  

Tbilisi-Tsnori section of the Tbilisi-Bakurtsikhe-Lagodekhimotorway and Zahesi-Rustavi part of the Tbilisi entrance motorway are also prohibited for trailers and semi-trailers due to the intense snow. Other vehicles are allowed.  

In Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, the Jinvali-Larsi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi motorway is prohibited for trailers, semi-trailers, and vehicles with the capacity of more than 30 seats. Other types of vehicle are allowed through with anti-skid chain. The vehicles with two or more tandem-drive axles are also allowed.

Trailers and semi-trailers are also prohibited on the Partskhisi-Nardevani section of the Fartskhisi-Manglisi-Walka-Ninotsminda motorway. Other vehicles are allowed through anti-skid chains.  

The traffic on the Kobi-Gudauri roadway is carried out through the avalanche protection tunnel. The remaining part of the road is freely allowed for traffic.
