Schools cancelled due to heavy snow

The learning process was cancelled in 86 schools due to the heavy snow and severe weather in Georgian regions, according to the Ministry of Education and Science.

Over 60 schools sessions were cancelled in the mountainous regions of Adjara, where the areas are covered with 200cm snow. The school #209 in the suburb of Tbilisi also is cancelled due to severe weather.

The travel conditions are still restricted on the roads of West and East Georgia. The vehicles can operate on highways only with the anti-skid tire chains, and the trailers are still prohibited. The cars are allowed to go to the Northern regions of Georgia through avalanche resistant tunnels.

The National Weather Station forecast -22 C temperature in the mountainous regions of the West Georgia and -6 in Tbilisi on December 14.
