Minister of Energy attends area affected by heavy snow

The largest city of the Adjara municipality, Batumi still remains without electricity. According to the Minister of Energy, the electricity in Batumi will be repaired today before 6:00 pm.

The Georgian Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze visited regions in Adjara that were damaged by severe weather and heavy snow.

"The three major transmission lines were damaged in Batumi. We are doing our best to repair electricity in every city of Western Georgia. As for Samegrelo, there are also several cities left without electricity. However we are hoping to repair every transmission line. Unfortunately, there are inaccessible areas where the brigades cant access. said Kakha Kaladze.

Kaladze and the several authorities are currently observing the repairs being done to the transmission lines since the midnight. The technical brigades are on a 24-hours working schedule. According to the energy company Energo-Pro Georgia, the damaged areas have been located.

For now over 145,000 residents are without electricity in Western regions of Georgia.
