Georgian parliament Chairman Davit Usupashvili expressed his solidarity to the Ukrainian people.

"We express our solidarity to the Ukrainian peoples choice and we wish for them to achieve their goal peacefully. I am sure that the international society will stand by Ukraine, just like they stand by Georgia, Usupashvili stated at the conference entitled 'Eastern Partnership Roadmap after Vilnius Summit' in Tbilisi on December 9.

Demonstrations in Ukraine started two weeks ago after Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych turned away from integration with Europe. These are the biggest street protests in Ukraine since the 2004 Orange Revolution, which swept pro-Western leaders to power, though Yanukovych made a comeback in 2010. The protesters are blockading government buildings, demanding from the President to step down.
