Georgian troops successful operation in Afghanistan

The 31th battalion, being part of an ISAF mission, conducted a military operation in the village of South Muhamadabad.  

According to the Ministry of Defense, the operation code-named Hunter II was aiming to demonstrate the battalion's power in its operational region, reveal the enemy's actions, and prevent them.

Solders of the divisions Bravo and Charlie company, being under the 31th battalion, conducted the operation along with American marines.The operation, which was divided into four phases, was led by the battalion commander from the field control center.

Bravo company's main purpose was to manage a patrol base around the village and its isolation, as well as forming the check points, and arranging search-cordon measurements. The main maneuver elements in the military operation were conducted by Charlie company personnel.

Upon entering the village, one of the tasks of the 31th battalion soldiers was to have a conversation with the village population and provide humanitarian assistance. Georgian soldiers also arranged a field medical tent where they provided local inhabitants with primary medical aid. In addition, the soldiers provided the population with various necessities.

According to the Defense Ministry, the military operation lasted for 27 hours and finished successfully. As for the Hunter II, it was a combined operation and about 200 Georgian soldiers and 28 American marines participated in it, as well as 35 armored vehicles MRAP and unmanned drones.
