IDPs to receive money from state for winter payments

Internally displaced families will receive 200 GEL ($ 118) each from the Georgian Ministry of IDPs, Accommodation, and Refugees within the Wintering over Project. The money should be used to cover winter fuel (electricity, gas) payments.

The state will spend GEL 4,700,000 for the project. A total of 23,000 displaced families who are below the poverty line will get a card with GEL 200 on it from Liberty Bank.

Minister of IDPs Davit Darakhvelidze thanked the bank administration for their participation in the project. "They prepared the cards for the IDPs without any commercial interest, the Minister said.

Internally displaced families will be able to get their cards and pay bills from November 20 until March 1.
