According to the First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Manana Kobakhidze, the violence toward women should be stopped in Georgia.

"The situation has been improved during the last several years indeed, including the amendments of the law. However the womens discrimination remains one of the most important problems in Georgia that should be certainly solved. said Manana Kobakhidze.

Since 2011, the international organization UN Women has been involved to provide gender equality and women rights protection in Georgia.

"The international organizations are playing an important role to solve this problem in Georgia, said Maia Rusetskaia, the Head of the Womens Information Center. "Many surveys and research were held during the last years. I think that its very important for our society and government to manage the right gender equality policy in the country.
