Georgian Troops’ successful operation in Afghanistan

The Batumi Infantry Battalion, who participates in ISAF mission in Afghanistan, completed the special operation GORDA II successfully in the village Karez Safed.

In the framework of special operations, Georgian and American troops interviewed the residents of the village and gathered information to reveal the renegade among the residents. The armored vehicle MRAP was also used in the special operation.

During the last three years in the village Karez Safed, Helmand province, more than 30 hand-made explosive devices were detonated.

The security of the Georgian and American troops throughout the operation was provided by U.S. military helicopters.
