President’s salary increases

The monthly salary of the Georgian President will be increased by 2,480 GEL, for a total of 7,200 GEL ($4,235 USD approximately) beginning in 2014, according to the Minister of Finance Nodar Khaduri.

"We are planning quite important changes in the Presidents administration, including the dismissal of staff, because the administrations functions were reduced. Because of this, we have enough resources to increase Presidents monthly salary. said Nodar Khaduri.

Currently, the Georgian Presidents monthly salary is only 4,720 GEL ($2,777 USD).

In March of 2013, the ex-prime minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili abolished the so called "premium request, the additional salary by the ministers and deputy ministers of Georgia. The previous government authorities were able to request additional salary several times in the year. The Georgian ministers monthly salary is 6,300 GEL ($3,705 USD).
