The EU's 28 foreign ministers discuss Georgias progress towards closer association with the EU at a Luxembourg summit, on 21 October.
The EU foreign affairs ministers council, chaired by the EU High Representative Catherine Ashton examines the situation in the EU's Southern neighborhood. It is expected the ministers to thrash out issues with the expected negotiations on EU-Georgia association agreement.
In preparation for the Eastern Partnership summit (EaP) on 28-29 November in Vilnius, the Council will take stock of developments regarding the EU's Eastern Partnership. The partnership launched in May 2009 with the aim of accelerating political association and deepening economic integration with six Eastern partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
