The Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs, Davit Sergeenko, is increasingly being discussed as the next Prime Minister of Georgia.
The Current PM, Bidzina Ivanishvili, said that the next candidate would be someone from the Cabinet Minister who has a good understanding of economics, but not the Minister of Economy himself.
Giorgi Margvelashvili, the governingGeorgian Dream coalition's candidate for president, neither approved nor denied Sergeenkos possible post.
"Davit Sergeenko is a wonderful friend who had been supporting me for the whole election campaign. He has a talent to be serving his country, lightening social problems to each citizen. He is a great person who has done a lot for Georgia. He is a good minister, too, Margvelashvili said.
Two days ago, Sergeenko said that being a PM or Healthcare Minister has never been his childhood dream but he will do whatever will be needed for the country.
PM Ivanishvili will name his candidate on Tuesday or Wednesday.
