The official text of agreement of Georgias initialled Association Agreement (AA) with the EU, also including deep and comprehensive free trade treaty (DCFTA), was released on the European Unions web-page.
"Although the Association Agreement has not yet been signed, the EU is committed to sharing exactly what it contains, reads the announcement of European Union.
One hundred page text of the agreement composes of 429 articles, preamble, eight titles, annexes, and protocols to the agreement.
The document contains more than 350 recommendations that Georgia has to implement to be closer to the EU.
There are also the timetables of the provisions of the directives to be implemented.
The preamble of the agreement text reads that EU is committed to further strengthening respect for fundamental freedoms, human rights, including the rights of persons belonging to minorities, democratic principles, the rule of law, and good governance, based on common values of the Parties.
During the November 29 Eastern Partnership Summit, the EU - Georgia Association Agreement was initialled. The Association Agreement, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, will further strengthen political, economic, and trade relations between the parties.
According to the European Union, the initialing of the Agreement is an important step towards its eventual signature and subsequent implementation by all EU Member States and Georgia.
"The Association Agreement is a concrete way to take advantage of the very positive dynamics in EU-Georgia relations. It focuses on support for core reforms, economic recovery, governance, sectoral cooperation and the far-reaching liberalisation of Georgia's trade with the EU, reads the announcement.
