President Margvelashvili committed Georgia to host the EBRD annual meeting in 2015

During the meeting with the PresidentSir Suma Chakrabarti of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)in the Kempinski hotel at Vilnius, the president of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili stated that Georgia is ready to host the EBRD annual meeting in 2015. Margvelashvili also thanked Chakrabarti for his support of the idea of holding the meeting annual meeting in Georgia.  

Chakrabarti said this was a initial meeting with the President of Georgia and the parties discussed the prospects of extensive partnership.  "We have invested about 2 billions of EUR during last 20 years. Thus, this is really a strong partnership and we want to keep it. Lots of opportunities for joint work for Georgia and EBRD are ahead, Chakrabarti said.

President Margverlashvili and Chakrabarti also discussed the importance of strengthening negotiations with the EBRD and the issue of its extensive involvement in Georgias future development.
