"Of course it goes without saying that the outcome of this election is unpredictable. We don't know who's going to win and the United States looks forward to working closely with the new president and the prime minister of Georgia states the US ambassador in Georgia, after meeting with the Head of District Election Commission, Nana Okudjava in Zugdidi (Samegrelo Region), West Georgia.

The ambassador also held meeting with the regional and international observers. He stated that pre-election environment is much calmer in Samegrelo than last year.

"These elections on Sunday represent a very important milestone in Georgia's continued consolidation of its democratic institutions and Samegrelo and Zugdidi happen to be a very important point in that process. said Richard Norland.
