PM Garibashvili: ‘Georgia’s European integration will be an irreversible process.’

The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili appealed to the citizens of Georgia about the Vilnius summit.

"By initialing an Association agreement in Vilnius, we are about to launch the most important process of actual integration into the European Union.

Garibashvili stated that Georgia historically is prone to the European civilization.

"Georgia is a European country in terms of its culture, history and most importantly, its values. writes Irakli Garibashvili.

PM Garibashvili mentioned that although the initialing of the Associated Agreement at the Vilnius summit does not mean a membership on the EU, it will certainly improve collaboration between Georgia and the EU.

"However it does imply such a high level of harmonization with the European Union that it ensures the irreversibility of the process of Georgias accession to the EU, stated Irakli Garibashvili.

"Trade and relevant issues are integral parts of the associated agreement between Georgia and the Europe. The creation of a deep and comprehensive free trade zone will gradually pave the way to Europes internal market for our country. Soon, Georgian products will enter the European Market and the label Made in Georgia will have totally different meaning. writes PM Garibashvili.

In his appeal, the Prime Minister also discussed Schengen visa simplification issues for Georgian citizens. And he emphasized that European integration will enable Georgia to build democratic institutions and ensure the freedom and safety of the citizens.

"Today our generation has been to take an important step toward Europe and make the dream of our ancestors come true. The Prime Minister said.
