The Foreign Affairs Council  agreed to sign an agreement establishing a framework for the participation of Georgia in EU crisis management operations. The decision was made at the meeting of 28 UN Foreign and Defense Ministers, in Brussels.

The council will sign the same kind of agreement with Chile, too.

Catherine Ashton, UN High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, offered the Georgian government to start negotiations for the framework in November 2012.
