Georgian Pardoning Commission board to change

The Georgian Pardon Commission members will be changed, stated Elene Tevdoradze who is the current chairperson of the Commission.

According to Tevdoradze, most of the current members are the advisors to former President Mihkeil Saakashvili. Thats why Tevdoradze believes, President Margvelashvili will change them.

"Personally, Id love to stay in the commission but I think I will no longer be the chairperson of it, she said.

Tevdoradze also said, Since the president has not passed the Pardoning Commission statute yet, no prisoners will be pardoned for November 23, Saint Georges day. 200 of them still asked the President to grant pardon, though.

Elene Tevdoradze assumes that these prisoners will be pardoned in the New Year, once the new Commission board is approved.
