Georgia to host the European Championship in track and field athletics

In June 2014, Georgia will host the European Team Championship for track and field athletics. President of the European Track and Field Federation, as well as Presidents of the Bulgarian, Estonian, Belorussian, Latvian, Ukrainian, Azerbaijanian and Armenian Federations visited Georgia regarding this matter.

Mayor of Tbilisi, Gigi Ugulava met with the members of the delegations today. He informed them of the upcoming sporting competitions for 2014-2015 and discussed the current and completed projects.

The guests, together with Ugulava, laid the foundation of a new athletics stadium in Digomi. The construction of the stadium with international standards will be completed in 2015 and will be able to accommodate 4000 spectators.
