NATO’s envoy attends presidential inauguration

NATO Secretary Generals Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai visited Georgia to attend the presidential inauguration of Giorgi Margvelashvili and to get introduced on the reforms in the Ministry of Defense.

Before a bilateral meeting with Appathurai, the Georgias Defense Minister commented for journalists that NATO envoys visit was NATOs great respect towards Georgia and president-elect Giorgi Margvelashvili.

"The visit of NATOs high official is aproof that our aspiration towards alliance is irreversible and our country will become the member of alliance, Georgias Defense Minister Arakli Alasania noted.

Appathurai is one of the high-ranking foreign dignitaries who will attend the inauguration ceremony, which will start in the courtyard of the Parliaments old building in Tbilisi center at 1pm local time.
