President awards Tbilisi Mayor with state order

President Mikheil Saakashvili awarded Gigi Ugulava, Mayor of Tbilisi, with the David Aghmashenebeli order. Ugulava thanked the President for the award on his official Facebook page.

"Lately, Tbilisi city hall, with the help of Tbilisians, has implemented a lot of important projects. Now I can say proudly that Tbilisi meets all the main requirements for a European city. David Aghmashenebeli order is one of the 10 state awards, which according to the Presidents official web-page, is distributed to "the Georgian citizens who have carried out actions that were heroic and courageous, associated with the protection of their motherland and fighting for the unification of their country, and associated with an immense and active participation in the building process of an independent Georgian government.
