Maia Panjikidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, says that it is very important that the Lithuanian President will visit Georgia just before the Vilnius Summit. According to Panjikidze, Dalia Grybauskaite will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Georgian President-elect as the EU presiding country president.
"She is presenting not only her own country, but the UN as well. It is very important that the UN asked its presiding countrys president to attend such an important event for Georgia, Panjikidze said.
In total, 53 foreign delegations will visit Georgia to attend Giorgi Margvelahsvilis inauguration ceremony. Among them, there will be Foreign Affairs Ministers from seven countries, Chairmen of the Parliament of several countries and the Azerbaijani Prime-Minister.
Among the guests, there also will be NATO Secretary Generals Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai.
