Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili talked about his resignation plans in an interview with Agency France Presse. He confirmed that after the Presidential Elections, he will quit and announce his successor.

"Within a week of the inauguration, I'll send in my resignation, he said. "I'll quit the prime minister's post before November 24."

Ivanishvili also mentioned Georgias current President Mikheil Saakashvili, calling him a "political corpse and saying he might face prosecution.

"Saakashvili is a political corpse. Never again can he have a political career in Georgia," - Ivanishvili to AFT. Saakashvili on the other hand, expressed desire to stay in politics after his Presidential term is over.

However, the Prime Minister thinks there is a chance Saakashvili could face prosecution for his previous deeds: "I think that there are too many questions for Saakashvili to answer and therefore there is a high probability that he will face questioning."

Ivanishvili also denied that after his resignation he will continue to rule the country from shadows.

"What would be the logic in me ruling from behind the scenes? he asked. "I am not going to act from behind the scenes."
