The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) will extend aid for so called cross-border villages in Georgia, according to the State Minister of Reintegration Paata Zakareishvili.
The Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to organize the meeting with the donor organizations to discuss the cross-border villages supporting issue. Paata Zakareishvili hopes that international organizations will take the UNHCR example and will provide aid to those needy families, who live across the barbed wire.
The government has already allocated GEL 20 million to address the infrastructure needs of families who live in an immediate vicinity of breakaway South Ossetias so called "occupation line.
According to Paata Zakareishvili, the support of those families, living across the "occupation line, will emphasize that International organizations are encouraging Georgias peaceful politics.
