Swedish MF: “Don’t repeat Ukraine’s mistakes”

The Swedish Foreign Minister warned the Georgian government against selective justice, after the joint press conference with the Georgian PM and Polish Foreign Minister. In particularly, Carl Bildt said that Georgia not to repeat the Ukraines mistake.

"EU will observe the processes in Georgia, as the Prime Minister indicated, we discussed some of the concerns not to repeat the Ukraines mistakes, Bildt said.

Swedish FM added that Ukraine completed their negotiations for the Association Agreement quite some time ago. Ukraine's former PM Yulia Tymoshenko was arrested on charges that did not stand the test which were clearly trumped up.

"Whether Ukraine will be able to sign, and meet the conditions of the European Union in Vilnius is still an open question, he said.

Foreign ministers arrived in Tbilisi late on 22 October as part of their pre-EaPs trip, which also included Moldova and Ukraine.
