Poland and Georgia signed the International Road and Maritime Transport agreements aimed to simplifying and promote transportation between countries.
The Road Transport agreement implies the transit in both and third country directions on the bases of the permit, the amount of which will be identified annually by the sides. The agreement also implies the regulation of legislation between the parties regarding the transit service that will promote the transit between two countries.
The Maritime Transport Agreement will promoting the development of maritime transport and removes any obstacles with joint efforts that will have negative effect in the field of maritime transport between Georgia and Poland.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy of Poland S?awomir Nowak and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili in Tbilisi on Tuesday.
"We had the honor to meet the prime minister of Georgia that is in charge of Economy and Transport issues. We have signed two important agreements that will make our countries closer in the field of road and maritime transport. We have also discussed Polands experience in the infrastructure. Georgia has a will to become an EU member and Poland supports Georgia regarding this issue. We hope that Georgia will sign the association agreement with the EU within a year, Nowak noted.
