The government allocated GEL 20 million to address the infrastructure needs of families who live in an immediate vicinity of breakaway South Ossetias so called "occupation line, a governmental commission said on Tuesday.
According to Minister for Regional Development and Infrastructure and co-chair of the commission, Davit Narmania, The commission which unites deputes of various ministers visited up to 40 villages located along immediate vicinity of breakaway South Ossetia and studied the needs of the families.
"Up to 100 houses need roofing and gas distribution networks as well as providing locals with firewood for heating, Narmania noted while updating the diplomats and international donor organizations about the situation in the villages.
State Minister for Reintegration, Paata Zakareishvili also thanked the diplomats for their contribution for suspending the process of the so called borderisation process, which involved installing fences by the Russian troops across the "dividing lines of South Ossetia.
"Only with the efforts of international diplomats, Russians have suspended the installing of the iron fences along the Georgian villages. We respond to Russias aggression only with the peace, Zakareishvili noted.
According to Georgian government, the process affected around 65 families.
