The Chief of Tbilisi Police Department, Alexander Chikaidze will be the next Minister of Internal Affairs, according to Irakli Garibashvili, the ongoing minister of the same structure and the nominee for Prime Minister.
Garibashvili call his successor a very honest and professional during the special briefing at 3:00 pm, on November 9.
"Alexander has grown from a family of the honest policeman. His father was very fair person, said Irakli Garibashvili. "As for him, he began working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs several years ago. He was a successful detective, and later the chief of the Regional Department in Kakheti.
"His employees told me, Alexander was such a good manager that he built his department like clockwork. I am sure he would be successful and honest minister.
Alexander Chikaidze was born in 1985 in Tbilisi. He graduated from Tbilisi state University, faculty of history. The last year, he served as the Chief of Kakheti Regional Department and later as the Chief of Tbilisi Police Department.
Chikaidze began his career in the police system as an investigator assistant. One year later, he became detective. Later he was appointed as the Chief of Gldani-Nadzaladevi district police department.
Alexander Chikaidze holds the rank of Police Colonel.
