The chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Davit Usupashvili held a meeting with the speaker of the Lithuanian Parliament, Seimas, at Vilnius on November 6.
The Georgian Delegations conversation was focused on the Vilnius summit that will be held on 28-29 November 2013. At this summit, Georgia is waiting for the initial of the Association Agreement.
"We debated about the political environment in Georgia, conversing about the results of the presidential elections, said the Seimas speaker Loreta Grauziniene. "We also had a discussion about the Association Agreement. I believe that the Georgian delegation will make a very important contribution to Vilnius summit.
Davit Usupashvili, the chairman of the Georgian parliament, said that Georgia will get closer on its way to Europe in Vilnius.
"After this meeting, I confirmed that everything goes good as Georgian people wish. And, this country will make one more step to be closer on its way to Europe during the Vilnius summit.
After the meeting with Seimas speaker was completed, Mr. Usupashvili participated in debates and discussed all the reforms that were carried out in the last year by Georgia. He stated that new constitutional amendments will provide the strengthening of parliament as the most democratic institution.
According to the new amendments, after the Presidents inauguration on November 17, Georgia transitions to a mixed authority pattern with semi-parliamentary and semi-presidential systems.
