The Organization for Security and Co-operation (OSCE) in Europe will restore its mission in Georgia. The OSCE Secretary General, Lamberto Zannier stated in his interview with Russian news-agency Ria Novosti.
According to Mr. Zannier, after the parliamentary elections of Georgia in 2012, the OSCE has strong relations with Georgia. And, although it has no representation any more, they can observe changes from outside.
"I plan to visit Georgia next year. The restoration of representation of OSCE will be one of the main issues of conversation. It will help us to realize projects in the region more effectively, said Lamberto Zannier.
The OSCE representation in Georgia cancelled working in June, 2009. The organizations council didn't manage a consensus on further work of mission for its observers in Georgia.
"Discussion about a presence format, as well as about a geographical and thematic framework of activity, is conducted constantly. Any decision about OSCE presence directly in a place, their mandate, modality and field of activity is accepted by all 57 participating countries. Lamberto Zannier stated.
