The chairman of the Georgian parliament, Davit Usupashvili met with the president of Latvia, Andris Berzins on November 5. The political leaders discussed bilateral relationships, Georgias euro-Atlantic interests, and Vilnius and Riga summits.
"We agreed that our countries will continue close relationships across the EU and NATO integration issues. Also, this relation can provide improvements in economic and educational fields. Very soon, the Agricultural minister of Latvia will visit Georgia for sharing his experience in this field. said David Usupashvili.
The third Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius will be held on 28-29 November 2013. On this summit, Georgia is waiting for the initial of the Association Agreement. As for the Riga summit, it will be held in 2015, which coincides with Latvias EU presidency.
"The Baltic states experience should be very profitable and effective for Georgia to provide our countrys approximation with the EU, said head of the Georgian parliaments foreign affairs committee, Tedo Japaridze. "This visit revealed that both countries, Latvia and Georgia are interested in bilateral affairs.
The Georgian delegation will hold its next official visit to Lithuania after leaving Latvia.
