President-elect Giorgi Margvelashvili hopes that Georgia will sign an Associate Agreement with the EU in September 2014. He also says that the country will have to work hard in the meantime.
"The Vilnius Summit is historical for Georgia because it is an institutionalization of the European decision, which our country made long ago, the president-elect said.
Margvelashvili also said that during the last year, Georgia managed to consolidate democracy, held an unprecedented European election, and implemented a lot of reforms that will help the country to integrate with Europe.
"In this regard, an Associate Agreement, Trade Agreement, and Visa Agreement are exceptionally important. They confirm institutionally that Georgia is on its way to becoming a European country, Margvelashvili said.
Georgia will initial an Associate Agreement with the EU at the Vilnius Summit on November 27.
