Newport? Yes, Newport that's it

Georgian State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alex Petriashvili is among the Georgian delegation of high officials attending the NATO Summit in Newport, Wales.

Despite his busy schedule, he was eager to share his emotions and great news with the readers of Agenda.ge personally in this blog.

For months, and more so in recent days, we have been hearing about the NATO UK Summit. Then, talks became more specified about the NATO Wales Summit. What’s the name of the location? Cardiff, Newport? Yes, Newport that's it.

Not more, not less, but a twin town of Kutaisi. Kutaisi residents are smart people in general and this time, they too were wise in selecting a twin town - they must have foreseen the important days ahead connecting Georgia with Newport.

And these days have rightly arrived – these important days for Georgia, NATO and the entire world.

As the saying goes, a friend indeed is a friend in need. And we all stand in support of Ukraine! Ukraine is close to the hearts and minds of each and every Georgian!

We fight shoulder-to-shoulder in Afghanistan with our partners. The ISAF meeting starts and my heart fills with pride as the flag of Georgia shines through the room. I thank our heroes! I thank them on behalf of NATO! Glory to those who have fallen in the fight.

Today as well as tomorrow a number of hot issues will be discussed. They will be burning and hard issues!

Thank God Georgia’s case is not burning, but truly special!
