British news website Daily Mail on Tuesday published an article about Napoli football club’s Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia that noted the team would need to fend off advances from Europe’s leading clubs for securing the services of the player.

In the piece, Alvise Cagnazzo noted the 22-year-old “adores Italian life and Napoli have taken the Georgian star to their heart as they chase historic Serie A title”, while also recognising the level of his performances.

In the city, there are those who swear they have seen him a few times, in disguise, visiting Piazza Maradona in the Spanish Quarter at a less crowded time and there are those who swear they have never seen Kvara driving luxury Italian cars”, the author says.

He has no tattoos or piercings, living his life modestly. He was shocked by wonderful Italian cuisine and by the goodness of mozzarella and Campania pasta”, Cagnazzo also points out.

The piece also tells readers about the appreciation from locals for the midfielder, as well as his club’s plans to double the young player’s current salary in a bid to keep him with at least a five-year extension to his contract.

But the future of the Georgian winger will be decided on the basis of the offers from the [other] clubs. It is difficult to imagine how Napoli could turn down £105 million for a player who cost just £8 million in June 2022”, the author points out.
