CNN: "Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Napoli’s Georgian sensation billed Kvaradona"

American news channel CNN on Tuesday praised the performance of Napoli’s Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia by saying he had taken the Italian national championship and the Champions League "by storm” and made Napoli one of Europe’s “most exciting” teams.

CNN stressed despite arriving without “much fanfare”, Kvaratskhelia was already being compared to Diego Maradona, the Argentine legend who played a portion of his illustrious career for the Italian club. 

He’s been dubbed affectionately Kvaradona after a lightning start to life in Italy; one which has him linked to moves to huge clubs around Europe and has gripped the football-mad city”, the article said.

CNN’s Ben Morse in his article also noted that as part of Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti’s new “fast-paced, lung-busting” team, the 21-year-old Georgian had been a “vital driving force” down the left-hand side, providing goals and assists.
