ELLE: “18 Holiday Destinations: Where You Need To Visit In 2019”

From Jordan to Georgia, fashion magazine ELLE with top UK travel experts have revealed must-see destinations to discover in 2019.

This list includes Georgia’s high mountainous town of Mestia in the Svaneti region.

Bored of Europe and Asia? Head to Georgia which is located 1,500 meters above sea level and a great starting point for trips throughout the region”, reads the article.

ELLE shares some “must-see” places of Mestia, including the Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography. For active travellers ELLE suggests hiking up the Chaladi Glacier on the slopes of the Caucasus Mountains as well as hiking the lakes at the base of Mount Ushba, “offering breath-taking views of the lakes”.

Local Svanetian cuisine is also recommended with its famous must-try “Kubdari meat pie and Tashmijabi (cheesy mashed potatoes)”.

ELLE’s list of 2019 destinations also include the Swiss Alps, Nepal and Bhutan, Morocco, Serbia, India, Belarus, Japan, Panama, the Brazilian Amazon and New Zealand.
