Georgia has always been an attractive tourist destination for foreigners but the country has become especially popular amongst Iranian travellers after it abolished entry visas for Iranian citizens last year.
In a two-minute video reportage, BBC journalist Rayhan Demytrie meets with Iranians who have arrived in Tbilisi to celebrate the start of Novruz or the Persian New Year, showing that Iranians enjoy freedoms in Georgia that they are forbidden at home.
"We chose Georgia for this holiday [because] it is a safe place. People living here are so hospitable. They are very kind and they are very good with tourists”, says Mozhgan Aslani, a young Iranian woman who is in Georgia for the holiday together with her family.
She adds that Iranian singers who are not allowed to go to Iran give concerts for Iranian audiences in Tbilisi.
