A teenager from Redmond High School in America has received a personal letter from Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in response to a request for a school project.

History student Levi Casto contacted the Georgian leader for a history project which involved researching a post-War War II conflict in a foreign country.

The 16-year-old did not expect a reply, but Georgia’s Prime Minister sent back a personal email and letter praising Levi for his "initiative to write to him directly as well as his intellectual curiosity about Georgia”.

Redmond Reporter has written a story about the teenager’s project efforts.

I was delighted…I was kind of in disbelief for a little bit,” he said about receiving Garibashvili’s response. "It means a lot to me. It certainly speaks volumes of what it means to him”, read the Redmond Reporter story.

This was the first time PM Garibashvili personally corresponded with a high school student in America, Levan Karumidze, media adviser to the administration of the Government of Georgia told the Redmond Reporter.

Levi said the project "really opened his eyes” to the history of the world.

There’s a lot more to world history that what’s already passed,” he said, adding that the world is constantly changing and developing.
