Georgia’s beautiful Gergeti Trinity Church is among the world’s most beautiful churches according to the top British edition Telegraph Travel.
The 14th century church is located in the northern part of the country, close to the Russia-Georgia border, and is one of the trademarks of Georgia.
"It is possibly the setting, in the green and white Caucasus mountains, below the summit of Mt Kazbegi that makes Gergeti Trinity Church quite so magnificent,” notes the article.
"Dating from the 14th century, it has a separate bell tower, and is often used as a navigation point for trekkers, who make a three-hour mountain climb to reach it. While religious services were banned during the Soviet era, it is once again used as a place of worship.”
The Trinity Church made to the Telegraph list together with 22 other famous monuments, such as Sagrada Familia in Spain, Mathias Church in Hungary and the Hallgrímskirkja in Iceland.
