A young European family has spent years on the road; exploring far-off destinations, discovering ancient traditions and cultures, and encountering people from all walks of life.
A Georgian adventure was one of the most rewarding trips the family have been to – so they decided to come back and write about things to do in Gudauri – Georgia’s winter resort village.
Are ski holidays only for skiing people? Nope! Are places like Gudauri in Georgia only for skiing? Nope! Even if some members of your family doesn’t like to ski … he can find some things to do in this Caucasus village,” states the blog.
Polish journalist Anna, her German husband Thomas and their well-travelled children have blogged about their Georgian experience and offered advice on things to do, see and eat in Gudauri. From sledding and paragliding, to heli-skiing down untouched slopes or a day trip to Kazbegi to visit the Gergeti Trinity Church, this blog covers it all.
"Going up the ski lifts … without skis or snowboard – is fun! The higher the better.”
"The highest point you can reach with the lift is 3,000 metres about sea level and it’s quite an exciting view. If you are lucky you can see Kazbeg mountain (with 5,047 metres the 3rd highest Georgian peak)!”
And don’t forget the hospitable Georgian people and the delicious food.
"Since our longer visit to Georgia some years ago, we are badly in love with Georgians, so every possibility of talking to them is happiness for us.”
