Buried beneath a small mountain in quaint Georgian village of Sakdrisi lies an ancient gold mine – believed by many to be the oldest gold mine in the world. A short video and text published on the Ebru News website shows excavation work being carried out at the mysterious place.
According to scientists, the fascinating thing at Sakdrisi is that the prehistoric works are preserved above and below ground. Discoveries inside the mine prove that the mine was used for six hundred years from the 34th to the 28th centuries BC, states the website|
Sakdrisi village is about 60km from the Georgian capital city, Tbilisi.
