Georgian Health Minister David Sergeenko has stated that a certain category of Georgian citizens will receive ambulatory medicines free of charge or at a highly discounted price.
Sergeenko stated that last year, due to the government’s cooperation with the private sector, a significant number of socially vulnerable people were able to buy 23 types of medicines for 1 GEL, a symbolic price.
The minister stated that very soon, not only socially vulnerable people but also pensioners and people with disabilities will be able to get about 50 and not 23 medicines at a reduced or symbolic price.
The pensioners will be able to pay half-price for the medicines they need, from a list of 40-45 medicines,” Sergeenko said.
The minister stated that the changes will likely come into play from the beginning of summer.
