The Invictus Games officially ended in Toronto, Canada. At the closing ceremony, Prince Harry talked about how astonished he was by the Georgian team.

"I could not have been ready for the scale of what we witnessed at these games,” he told the audience.

"I told you to be ready for competition, but I am not sure any of us were ready for a group of men from Georgia, who three years ago had never even played the game, would have won the gold in sitting volleyball,” he added.

The Georgian sitting volleyball team were presented at the hall and enjoyed prolonged ovations following the Prince’s words.

Team Georgia won the gold medal at sitting volleyball after they defeated the team from the United Kingdom in the finale on September 27.

The Invictus Games is an international competition held under the patronage of Prince Harry. The tournament aims to contribute to the recovery and rehabilitation of injured, ill, and wounded service members from around the world, with this year's event held in Toronto, Canada.

Georgia participated in the games for the third time.

Established by Prince Harry in 2014, the games aim to recognise and support the achievements of service members who have suffered "life-changing injuries, both visible and invisible, while serving their countries."
