Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday discussed preparations for the 2024 parliamentary elections and the pre-election environment in a meeting with the pre-election international observation mission of the United States-based National Democratic Institute.
The Government Administration said the meeting also reviewed related “important reforms” implemented in the country, and noted elections would be held electronically for the first time this year, with the initiative including electronic voting, counting and voter registration.
Kobakhidze said the reform had been implemented following recommendations of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
The Georgian PM stated the Government would “do everything” to hold elections in a “free and fair” environment and to provide “very wide” monitoring.
