Georgian National Film Centre is participating in the 74th Berlin International Film Festival from February 15 to February 25, showcasing a Georgian stand at the European Film Market, highlighting the rich heritage of Georgian cinema, presenting new projects and promoting the country as a leader for filmmaking in Eastern Europe.

The Georgian delegation includes directors and producers aiming to forge connections with representatives from various production companies, foster collaborations and advance the country's film industry, the Film Centre said on Thursday, noting their participation would bolster international ties for Georgian filmmakers and the success of their ongoing projects.

The delegation is led by the Centre’s Acting Director Koba Khubunaia, who is set to hold several important meetings with producers, representatives of companies, cinemas, online portals and international film festivals.

Khubunaia will discuss plans to attract foreign investments to Georgia through film projects, alongside efforts to promote Georgia as an attractive destination for film production, with collaboration between the Film in Georgia programme and the National Film Centre.

On the sidelines of the Festival, the European Shooting Stars competition is also underway, which presents up-and-coming European actors at Berlinale, with Georgian actress Salome Demuria being selected among the ten European talents of 2023 by a jury of international film industry experts.
