Georgian PM highlights foreign policy priorities, need for “joint efforts” at Ambassadors’ Conference

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Sunday featured at the annual meeting of heads of Georgian diplomatic missions abroad to discuss the country’s foreign policy priorities.

Kobakhidze thanked Georgian diplomats for “defending the country’s interests” in the international arena, the Government Administration said.

The PM noted that the Conference was an “important format” that was providing an opportunity to share information and exchange views on “important issues related to strengthening the country and its foreign policy positions”.

 

The meeting focused on the main directions of the Government programme, its foreign policy priorities, and the need for “joint efforts” to achieve the set goals.

The discussions also touched on challenges facing the country and ways to solve them.

The meeting noted that the inauguration of the newly elected President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Sunday  had marked the “full implementation” of the parliamentary system of governance in the country, with the Constitution “meeting European standards” and “ensuring the country's irreversible democratic development”.
