The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia on Saturday said it had arrested three individuals during a protest march held in opposition to the meeting at the Central Election Commission earlier in the day, where the results of last month’s parliamentary elections had been summarised.
The Ministry noted the arrests had been made for “disobedience to lawful requests of the police and violation of public order” during the march.
The body added the participants of the protest had attempted to block David Agmashenebeli Alley in the capital Tbilisi after holding a rally at the CEC building, however, the law enforcement officers had thwarted the attempt.
