The Georgian National Tourism Administration on Friday said it had featured at IFTM Top Resa, a three-day major French travel B2B event featuring 170 countries and 1,400 companies in Paris, to showcase the country’s tourism potential and travel destinations.
The event, visited by over 30,000 tourism professionals, involved about 10 Georgian tourism companies, the Department of Tourism and Resorts of western Georgian region of Adjara, and the Destination Management Organisation of the western Imereti region.
The GNTA said the Georgian stand, offering a tasting of wine from the country, attracted “numerous visitors”, including tourism professionals, tour operators, and media representatives from France and other European countries, who explored tourist offerings.
Diana Nanadze, a representative of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara, said the body had “actively” participated in various tourist exhibitions, and noted visitors flocked to the Georgian stand were introduced to the region's tourism potential and tasted wine and sweets.
The GNTA also held meetings with international tourism companies and media organisations over cooperation prospects, while representatives of domestic tourism companies were involved in meetings with potential partners to develop tourist packages.
