Deputy Head of Georgian National Food Agency re-elected as Vice-President of World Organisation for Animal Health

Vasil Basiladze, the Deputy Head of the National Food Agency of Georgia, was re-elected as the Vice-President of the European Regional Commission, at the 91st General Session of the Assembly of the World Organisation for Animal Health in Paris.

The Agency said on Wednesday Basiladze was elected for a second term with a majority of votes from representatives, experts and partners of the 183 member countries, with his mandate set to run for three years.

This year, as the Organisation celebrates its 100th anniversary, it was once again emphasised how important the involvement of regional representatives is in achieving the common goal of ensuring animal health and welfare. Georgia’s progress in this regard is noteworthy”, the official said.

The Session also saw Emmanuelle Soubeyran elected for a five-year term as the Director General.
