Levan Davitashvili, the First Vice Prime Minister and Economy Minister of Georgia and Alparslan Bayraktar, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the energy sector between Georgia and Turkey.
The Memorandum was signed within the scope of the official visit of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to Turkey, and aims to strengthen and deepen the existing partnership between the two countries, the Government’s press office said.
Under the Memorandum, the two countries will share experience in renewable energies, energy efficiency, infrastructure digitisation, and reduction of carbon emissions.
The ceremony of signing the memorandum was attended by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday highlighted Turkey as “the number one trade partner” for Georgia and said he had discussed the prospects of further deepening bilateral trade relations with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The importance of strategic partnership and deepening cooperation in various fields between Georgia and Turkey were discussed on Thursday by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara.
An official welcoming ceremony of the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze was held on Thursday at the Presidential Complex of Turkey, with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosting the Georgian official.
Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Thursday said topics that “unite strategic interests” of Georgia and Turkey would be discussed in a meeting between Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the former’s official visit.
